Upon arrival in the Fort Benning area, the main airport near Fort Benning is the Hartsfield International Airport. Bus transportation is provided by Greyhound by calling the office to obtain a bus schedule for the area. The METRA Transit System takes riders to many locations near Fort Benning. If arriving by car, take Interstate 285 to Exit 61 and head on Interstate 85 towards Atlanta/Montgomery. At Exit 21, take ramp onto Interstate 185 toward Columbus. Fort Benning is at the end of Interstate 185. For military personnel traveling with families, temporary lodging is provided on Fort Benning in over 1,100 affordable guest rooms.
